The Florida State University School of Information (iSchool) has launched the Cyber Intelligence Graduate Certificate Program.

“The School of Information is proud to offer such cutting-edge curriculum offerings in cyber-security,” said Dr. Chris Hinnant, Director of the School of Information. “As information security threats impact even more segments of society, we are pleased to provide ways to help our students undertake careers that address these issues. The certificates we offer are preparing our students to be workforce ready to meet the needs of the state and the nation.”

This certificate program is focused on contemporary issues of cybersecurity, cyber defense and investigation, privacy, and modern ethics in society. It prepares students for careers as cybersecurity analysts, decision and policy makers and information/knowledge officers and investigators in cyber intelligence, cybersecurity, privacy, and ethics.

“The certificate program offers students a plethora of opportunities to obtain cyber intelligence while seeking a degree in Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Master of Science in Information (MSI), Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) and/or BSIT/MSIT Combined pathway programs,” said Dr. Shuyuan Mary Ho Metcalfe, Associate Professor in the School of Information.

Throughout this 12-credit program, students will have two areas of study which they may pursue: intelligence analytics, which focuses on information behavioral analysis and information policy analysis, and cybersecurity.

The program can be completed online and taken within the master’s degree program, as a post-master’s stand-alone certificate, or as part of a specialist degree. All courses focus on knowledge and critical thinking skills associated with cyber intelligence and security in organizations and society.
