Her service as UFF-FSU President was has been praised for her commitment to providing high quality services to her members, increasing the union’s political presence in both state and national politics, and for her leadership in uniting the faculty in demanding accountability in last year’s Presidential search process.
“I am truly humbled by the opportunity I have been given to represent Florida’s faculty and for the support I received from all corners of the state. Florida’s higher education system is one of the most important public institutions we have, and I am determined to work with thousands of other faculty members to make sure we have the resources, the policies and the tools we need to provide the best possible education for our students and to conduct the highest quality research that Floridians can be proud of. I look forward to increasing our efforts at all levels of policy making, from electing the best candidates for public office to working with the Governor, Legislature, Board of Governors, and all of the Trustees across the state,” Dr. Proffitt said.
Another election will be held for the UFF-FSU president position as Dr. Proffitt moves forward to Statewide President.
