iSchool alum appointed manager of card services at Quinnipiac University

Florida State University (FSU)’s School of Information & Library Studies (SLIS) alumnus, Deric Waite, has been appointed Manager of Card Services at Quinnipiac University.  He remarked, “I feel lucky to be a part of the continued growth and development of Quinnipiac University, and look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the university’s success.”  At Quinnipiac, Waite will be responsible for the operation of the QCard, an official university ID used to access various campus locations and services, including the university’s meal plans.

In his former role, Waite worked for five years since 2006 as a Program Assistant in the FSU Card Center.  He was promoted in 2011 to become the Program Coordinator where he stayed until his new position at Quinnipiac University.

Waite earned his B.A. degree from Flagler College, and two M.S. degrees from FSU.  One he completed in 2008 focused on international affairs with an emphasis on economics.  His other M.S. was finished in 2010 (information studies with an emphasis in technology and networking) from FSU SLIS.
