Ten Grad Students Nominated for Outstanding TA Award

Ten College of Communication and Information graduate students have been nominated for FSU Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards. Olivia Genito, Aleksandar Iricanin, Steven Pope, and Victoria Villanti from the School of Communication, and Bader Albahlal, Jeanna Cripe, Kristie Escobar, Seyedeh Neelufar Payrovnaziri, Nathaniel Ramos, and Sierra Whitfield in the School of Information are up for the award to be presented on April 18, 2019.

Award criteria requires the TA facilitating and inspiring student learning, showing evidence of continued improvement of teaching practice, engaging in professional growth and leadership, and providing evidence that he/she has qualities that set him/her apart as a TA. To be considered for the $750 honorarium, certificate, and university recognition, eligible nominees submit a teaching portfolio that includes a letter of recommendation from someone in their department who has observed their teaching. A committee of FSU Faculty and PIE Teaching Associates bases the awards on the TA being able to provide documentation of exceptional instruction as a laboratory instructor, classroom instructor, recitation leader, or as a course facilitator for a faculty member (face-to-face or online).
