Grad student wins Georgia Bar Association award

While attending classes at FSU’s College of Information, graduate student Laureen Adams, J.D., has been working as a solo law librarian as the library manager of Dougherty County Law Library, Albany, Georgia. This past Friday, Laureen was awarded the William B. Spann Jr. Award by the Georgia Bar Association for her service to self-represented litigants. Congratulations, Laureen!

About the William B. Spann, Jr. Award. The William B. Spann, Jr. Award is given each year either to a local bar association, law firm project or a community organization in Georgia that has developed a pro bono program that has satisfied previously unmet needs or extended services to underserved segments of the population. The award is named for a former president of the American Bar Association and former executive director of the State Bar of Georgia.
