This year, nine College of Communication and Information (CCI) students have been inducted into Florida State University’s (FSU) Torchbearer 100.
Torchbearer 100 recognizes the most outstanding students who have made a significant impact on student life at FSU due to their service and leadership. The Torchbearer 100 showcases the idea that as an individual grows, their potential grows with them. This growth creates avenues for an exponential positive impact on their communities.
CCI students who are being inducted this year are: Cali Berenis, Bella Bozied, Maya Calderon, Ellie Helgeson, Allison Janvier, Catherine Marshall, Allison Matula, Mia Nicholson, and Leah Solomon.
The inductees are involved in a variety of organizations across campus such as Her Campus, Panhellenic, Engage 100, Dance Marathon, Order of Omega, Student Alumni Association, Relay for Life, Light the Night, and many more.
Bella Bozied, a double major in Information, Communication, and Technology and Editing, Writing and Media said, “I am full of pride to be inducted into FSU’s Torchbearer 100 along with so many other great leaders. The application process alone reminded me of how much FSU has brought to me, and how much I continue to want to give back.”
Two advertising students spoke about their induction.
Cali Berenis is involved in many student-run organizations throughout campus such as being a 2023 Orientation Leader, Resident Assistant in DeGraff Hall, Communications Director for FSU Homecoming, marketing intern for Seminole Athletics, Service Scholar for the Center of Leadership and Service, and an EngageTLH Trip Leader. “My involvements bring me a sense of belonging and give me opportunities to make friends, find my interests, and grow myself professionally and personally,” Berenis said.
Leah Solomon said, “The opportunity to join a network of the top 100 leaders at Florida State University excited me, as I saw the potential to create valuable connections. I believed I could also serve as a source of inspiration for women who, like me, were making strides in creative fields such as communication.”
The students were inducted into Torchbearer 100 on April 15, 2024. CCI wants to congratulate all of our inductees!
