Beta Phi Mu events set for Nov. 18

The Gamma Chapter of Beta Phi Mu is holding its 54th Annual Meeting and Evening of Events on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, during FSU Homecoming Weekend. All Beta Phi Mu members—as well as alumni, faculty, and friends of the School of Library & Information Studies—are invited. Among those expected to be in attendance is retired SLIS Professor Charles W. Conaway (1977-2004).

All events take place within the Goldstein Library:

  • 4:00 p.m.: The Gamma Chapter 54th Annual Meeting , taking place in the Goldstein’s Gregory Conference Room, is open to all but voting is for members only. New chapter members will be inducted.
  • 5:00 p.m.: Dean of FSU University Libraries Julia Zimmerman will introduce newly appointed University Libraries Dean for Digital Scholarship and Technology Services Emily Gore, who will present “The Future of Digital Scholarship.” Gregory Conference Room.
  • 6:00 p.m.: Wine & Finger Food Reception with jazz pianist Jim Amend, will give everyone a chance to catch up and plan the remainder of their Homecoming Weekend in a casual, informal setting within the Goldstein Library.
