Koontz chairs Athens IFLA conference

Dr. Christie Koontz (School of Library and Information Studies, College of Communication & Information) chaired a pre-conference for the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) in Athens, Greece, August 19-21. The event, hosted by the IFLA’s Management and Marketing Section, its Management of Library Associations Section, and the Greek Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs, coincided with Greece’s 5000th birthday; it’s theme was “Service Strategies for Libraries.”

Dr. Koontz was cited as one of the Tallahassee Democrat’s “25 Women You Need to Know in 2009.” She was honored as the 2008 Outstanding Faculty Member during last year’s Convocation & Homecoming Ceremonies.
