New Printer Policy

Attention students and general users of computing services at the School of Information Studies!

Effective Wednesday June 9, 2004 P-counter, a print management software application, will be turned on so that we can manage user printing.

FOR INFORMATION STUDIES STUDENTS
Overall there will be little impact on current IS students. Below are a few things to be aware of:

  1. You will need to login using your own IS network userID and password – student/student will no longer be available.
  2. This change should be seamless as long as you are aware of the network information most IS students already have.
  3. All IS students will be limited to 500 sheets per semester and then be prompted by the application to provide their own paper if they exceed this limit.
  • A support desk will be available in the library to assist you with either creating or editing existing Windows 2000 accounts.
  • Please come to the IS help desk located in room 266 for username and password assistance in the event no one is available to assist you at the library technical support desk.
  • Note that the username and password Student/Student will NOT work, (nor will FSU garnet username and passwords be accepted) you must use your IS username and password
  • The paper you provide after exceeding the limit must be in an unopened ream

FOR ALL NON INFORMATION STUDIES STUDENTS
*All Non-IS students, which include other FSU students and the general public, will be limited to 100 sheets per semester.

  • You will now need to have a unique network userID and password to login to our network – student/student will no longer be functional (nor will FSU garnet username and passwords be accepted)
  • A support desk will be available in the library to assist you with either creating or editing existing Windows 2000 accounts.
  • Please come to the IS help desk located in room 266 for username and password assistance in the event no one is available to assist you at the library technical support desk.
