Position Overview:
Assist the D.C. United Communications department in all aspects of the department’s activities and responsibilities including but not limited to writing/editing press releases, compiling useful statistics and relevant information before games, working with players, coaches and staff, assisting media and more. Additionally, the intern must attend home matches where they will assist in game-day communications duties.

70% Assist with Communications department programs and initiatives:
- Writing articles for the website and other team publications
- Compiling weekly team information for media and broadcast personnel during home and away matches
- Statistical analysis and record keeping
- Press Releases
- Research
- Management of press clippings
30% Assist with home game-day operations
- Organize and assist in credentialing for local and national media
- Assist in the set up and breakdown of the press box before and after games
- Distribute statistics to media, TV trucks and broadcast booths during game
- Collect and transcribe quotes from home and visiting team players and staff
Required Knowledge/Skills/Qualities:
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Strong writing and verbal communications skills
- Close attention to detail
- Able to work weeknights, weekends and holidays
- Detail oriented with strong follow-up skills
- Valid drivers license
