Contributing Intern & Web Intern

Los Angeles’ freshest, most intriguing news website is looking for a few special interns this semester. TheTea.net is already making major moves! Are you witty with a flair for writing? Do you have a strong grasp on pop culture (celebrity news, music, fashion, sports, , politics, and the entertainment industry etc.)? Are you able to utilize resources to GET THAT INFO (Myspace, Facebook, YouTube, entertainment news sites, newspapers, etc.)? Are you organized, reliable and always on top of your game? If so, we are looking for your help. We are a 7 day a week site. You would need to commit to at least 3 days a week.

However, all work may be done remotely. There are several intern positions currently available. We are looking for people who want to be journalists. We have an editorial section where you will have the opportunity to write celebrity/sports/politics and industry pieces. There are also opportunities to do on air stuff too. You may also be asked to do movie reviews or interviews with music bands. But above all you need to be a professional and ready to contribute.

Contributing Intern (3 positions)
Research of entertainment and lifestyle news
Write and publish at least 8- 10 posts DAILY on various celebrity, fashion, music, sports and industry news. Locate accompanying photos or videos related to each post, verifying and listing all sources
Spell and grammar check the website daily
Write/ and post stories for editorial section
Attend press screenings, write reviews,

Preferred Skills (Not necessary, but they are advantageous)

Blogging experience
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of proper grammar and spelling
Experience with Content Management Systems like WordPress, Blogger,
Research abilities
Photoshop – how  to resize a picture or add a graphic
Web design capabilities – limited

Website Assistant Intern(1 position available)
Write press releases announcing upcoming events, ‘You heard it first’ stories and updates on future plans
Plan and implement celebratory events
Correspond with potential collaborators and business partners and studios
Maintain a detailed and organized database of each business partner and sustain updated contacts with each one
Schedule meetings with clients and potential business partners
Assist with and carry forth general promotion of the website through the press
Scout locations and handle permissions involved with potential production shoots
Contribute and carry out (if technical knowledge permits) various improvements to the look and set up of the website

These positions are all unpaid and for school credit. Journalism/Communication students are preferred. There are perks that will indicate our appreciation of your help.
