Graduate Assistant Position @ The Innovation Hub

The FSU Innovation Hub, in partnership with the School of Information, is seeking Graduate Assistants to work and learn in our state-of-the-art facility for the 2021-22 academic year. Applicants must be in-state graduate students in the School of Information and must reside in Tallahassee to work in our facility.

The Innovation Hub offers GAs the opportunity to explore and develop skills with technologies including:

  • Digital Fabrication – 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, CNC Routing, and Vinyl Cutting
  • XR Tech – Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality
  • Electronics and Robotics – Arduino and Raspberry Pi circuit boards, VEX Robotics, Internet of Things
  • Programming and Frameworks – App development, 3D design, Machine Intelligence, Web development
  • Digital Media development

We also provide experience in managing innovation spaces including:

  • Supervising staff
  • Coordinating front desk operations
  • IT purchasing and maintenance
  • Scheduling and reservations
  • Developing policies and procedures
  • Analyzing usage data
  • Developing new services
  • Marketing
  • Implementing security practices

Additionally, there are opportunities to assist in growing and improving our online content including the development of online tutorials and workshops.

The three GA positions in the Innovation Hub (each 20 hours per week) coordinate responsibilities to provide supervisory coverage of front desk operations while advancing their own unique areas of interest.
