Group Sales Development and Integration Internship

Since its opening in 1971, the Walt Disney World® Resort near Orlando, FL has grown to feature four theme parks – Magic Kingdom® Park, Epcot®, Disney’s Hollywood Studios®, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park. Department Overview:

Group Sales Development and Integration (GSDI)

 

Provide sales support for business areas such as Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, Disney Youth Programs, Disney Meetings, Disney Institute, Disney Group Getaways, Group Tickets and several other partners and segments.  Provide exceptional service and positive experiences to Internal/External Guests.

There may be opportunities to assist on various projects under each role heading regardless as to which role you are primarily placed in.  Some of the responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Group Sales Direct:

Opportunity to interact with various clients worldwide who are interested in learning more about Disney Youth Programs, Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, Disney Meetings, Disney Catered Events, Disney Institute, Disney Group Getaways, Park and Event Sales, and Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa

  • Engage with clients on incoming sales leads via various platforms including phone, email and social media
  • Discover the client requests to create a qualified inquiry accurately and efficiently into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database
  • Utilize several sales techniques to advance or close the sale for several of the group markets supported
  • Utilize excellent guest service to excite guests to bring their business to Walt Disney World

 

  • Disney Internal Meetings and Sales Booking Solutions:

Opportunity to work with all levels of Disney Cast Members, including Disney Executives and Imagineers.  Learn all the exciting venues and VIP areas that are available across Disney property.

  • Engage with internal clients to assist with planning and blocking space for their internal meetings
  • Assist with the approval process and create accounts within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database
  • Partner with the Catering and Convention Services teams to fulfill internal requests.
  • Create room blocks and reserve function space across Walt Disney World® Parks and Resorts for Disney’s Fairytale Weddings, Youth Groups, Convention and Leisure Groups
  • Create and open Master Accounts, also assist with contract turnovers

 

  • Group Ticketing Solutions:

Opportunity to learn Disney’s ticket product and be involved with ticket media initiatives for the Walt Disney World group business.

  • Assist in processing bulk ticket orders for Youth Groups, Youth Events, Disney Performing Arts, Theme Park Events, Youth Education Series and convention delegates
  • Manage Group Leader and Travel Planner communications and inquiries via phone calls and email to fulfill group ticket requests
  • Partner with multiple departments to validate and complete ticket orders efficiently and thoroughly by monitoring client documents and websites
  • Inform and educate Group Leaders and Travel Planners on My Magic + ticket media

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

The minimum qualifications you need to be considered for any of these positions are:

 

  • Currently enrolled, or graduated within 6 months of the start date of this internship, in a college/university, earning a degree in hospitality, marketing/sales or related field
  • Demonstrated strong Guest Services Skills including the ability to ensure Guest satisfaction and provide timely appropriate Guest service recovery
  • Demonstrated strong influencing skills
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills with attention to details
  • Demonstrated written communication skills
  • Demonstrated verbal skills, including telephone etiquette
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative in the handling of a wide range of situations involving our internal Walt Disney World Cast Members, Travel Agents, and Guests on a daily basis
  • Flexibility to work on ever-changing, time-sensitive priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to organize work flow for accomplishing client needs
  • Ability to manage high-volume interaction by phone, email, chat, and social media.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Currently enrolled in a Hospitality or Event Management program
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases
  • Prior participation in the Disney College Program or previous Disney work experience
  • Customer service or sales experience
  • Prior experience in the Hospitality industry
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen
  • Fluency in the Spanish language
