Intern, Hardware Test Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Work under supervision of the hardware engineer to design, build, test, qualify and maintain systems
  • Write scripts to create and execute lab and automated hardware tests
  • Create reliability test schemes, including hardware electrical, mechanical and thermal tests of servers
  • Troubleshot issues with hardware, software and network, diagnose and root cause component failures
  • Document and publish test results, maintain lab and respond as needed.

Qualifications & Desired Skills

  • Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience with web infrastructure, distributed systems, or component-oriented software engineering
  • 2+ years of experience with Linux/Unix/BSD
  • Familiar with lab electrical & thermal test equipment, familiar with server and network hardware and components
  • Practical knowledge of shell scripting and at least one scripting language (Ruby, Perl, Python)
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to troubleshoot failures and issues
