Operations/Compliance Section – Intern Description
The Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Office of Energy has an opening for a part-time Intern in the Operations/Compliance Section. The candidate we seek must be skilled in the Microsoft program applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and must have skills in using a multi-line phone. The applicant must have good organizational skills and the ability to learn new processes and different functions of the Department. We are looking for someone who works well with others, is a self-starter and is motivated to do the best job possible.
This is work providing administrative support by assisting in the coordination of the daily financial and administrative operations including budget operations, accounting, personnel, resources, information technology and property inventory. The incumbent will also assist in the coordination of training and technical assistance operations such as grant program and policy compliance, risk management and monitoring oversight. In addition, the incumbent may also be responsible for filing; faxing; copying; opening, sorting and delivering mail.
Policy Section – Intern Description
The Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Office of Energy has an opening for a part-time Intern in the Policy Section. The candidate we seek must be skilled in the Microsoft program applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and must have skills in using a multi-line phone. The applicant must have good organizational skills and the ability to learn new processes and different functions of the Department. We are looking for someone who works well with others, is able to work in a fast paced environment, is a self-starter and is motivated to do the best job possible. It is preferred the applicant has some understanding of the legislative process.
This is work providing high-level administrative support by conducting policy & legislative research, legislative tracking, monitoring, and reporting research, preparing reports, handling information requests, assisting constituents, and performing administrative and clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings. The incumbent may also be responsible for filing; faxing; copying; opening, sorting and delivering mail. May also have the opportunity to attend House/Senate committee meetings.
Executive Section – Intern Description
The Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Office of Energy has an opening for a part-time Intern in the Executive Section. The candidate we seek must be skilled in the Microsoft program applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), proficiency using email and the internet. The applicant must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; good organizational and research skills; ability to learn new processes, be self directed, work well as a member of a team; and learn different functions of the Department. It is plus if the candidate has graphic design skills with graphic design programs.
This is work providing high-level administrative support by conducting research analysis of energy and industry related issues, writing and compiling material for our Energy newsletters, handling information requests, assisting constituents, and performing administrative and clerical functions such as preparing persuasive presentations, reports, correspondence, creating fliers and print materials and receiving visitors in the front office. The incumbent may also be responsible for filing; faxing; copying.
