Cybersecurity Internship with the Office of Information Technology

WHAT WE DO:
Florida Department of Management Services (DMS), Security Ops team provides Incident Response, Security Compliance, and Risk Management for DMS. Our mission is to enable business processes while ensuring the protection, defense, and detection of cybersecurity risks within DMS’ critical infrastructure.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Students with a study area focused on cybersecurity, computer science, cyber criminology, and information security management.
  • DMS is seeking students in their junior or senior year of their undergraduate degree, or any year of a master’s degree.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
During your time with us, you will be exposed to policy, procedure, and compliance standards implementation process. Endpoint Security: Tier 1 security operations (event response) and vulnerability management. More senior-level students will have the opportunity to participate in Tier 2&3 Security Event Incident Response: event investigation and collaboration with a Managed Security Service Provider.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

During your time at DMS, you will learn the fundamentals of :

  • Cybersecurity Incident Response
  • Security Compliance-Legal and Regulatory
  • Risk Management

WORK HOURS PER WEEK:

This is an unpaid internship and students can earn academic credit with an accredited university or college. Students with a study area focused on cybersecurity, computer science, cyber criminology, and information security management.
Academic Year: Fall 2022
