Community Outreach / Crowd Funding Coordinator Internship

Timeframe: Available for Spring 2015, Summer 2015 and/or Fall 2015 semesters

Agency Description: Lutheran Social Services of North Florida’s (LSSNF) charitable mission is to develop, fund, implement, and administer programs to address the unmet social service needs of the low-income residents in our community. LSSNF was established in 1989 as a 501(c)(3) social service organization serving the counties of North Florida. The InnBetween Transitional Housing Program was created in 1994 and since then has served 192 families. In 1996, LSSNF purchased a commercial laundry facility and remodeled it into a ten unit apartment complex for housing formerly homeless handicapped individuals. In 2007, the Computer Refurbishing Technical Assistance program was established.

Internship Description: 1-4 person internship. Responsibilities would include:
• Develop a Crowd Funding plan
• Outline plan to Fundraising Committee and Board of Directors
• Assist LSSNF’s Fundraising Committee in implementing said plan
• Create documentation and post reports
• Other community outreach opportunities which could involve PSA creation, expanding LSSNF’s social media presence, website updates, etc.

Skills Needed: Understanding of crowd funding and social media, organizational skills, ability to explain technical ideas to non-technical persons, ability to work independently, creatively.

Compensation: Unpaid internship but can be used for volunteer hours or class credit. Upon completion, LSSNF will provide recommendations and description of work performed. The above description can be tailored to fit a particular professional work aspiration.
