The Ask-A-Librarian Volunteer program is designed to provide students with real-life experience with virtual reference before entering the work-field.
The Ask A Librarian team will provide the students with software training, placing them on the virtual desk with an Ask-A-Librarian Intern for initial training, and enabling them to interact with the public with online chat, email and text messaging.
Volunteers can work 2-3 hours a week. For Internship credit (LIS5945) toward the MLIS, interns will need to work about 10 hours per week for 3 credits.
