Curatorial Internship
The Curatorial Intern will work with the Florida Hospice & Palliative Care Association (FHPCA) to curate and manage a gallery exhibition for their annual clinical conference, “Painting the Picture: Messaging Metrics & Mission”. The theme for this conference is centered around the arts, and the exhibition hall will be transformed into a “gallery” displaying artwork from patients, families, and other sources.
Tasks include:
Curating:
- Locating potential artwork for exhibition that fits the theme, and fills the requirements made by the FHPCA
 - Working with FHPCA Hospice Provider members to choose artwork for exhibition
 - Work with Communications Coordinator to write a short press release discussing the project, theme and artists chosen
 
Logistics:
- Managing incoming and outgoing artwork to and from the gallery exhibition space. This includes managing any shipments or coordinating local deliveries
 - Coordinating proper paperwork such as consignment and loan agreements from artists and collectors
 - Creating artwork descriptions and labels for all artwork
 - Liaising with FHPCA members and hotel contacts for installation set up
 - Ordering supplies, handling vendor relationships and managing any payment transactions
 
Requirements:
- Interest in Fine Arts, Museum Studies, and/or knowledge/experience with art handling practices (shipping experience is a plus)
 - Be able to work independently and collaboratively
 - Be personable and professional while handling all duties, such as phone and email reception
 - Must have good computer skills
 - Must be organized and keep proper records
 - GPA equal to or greater than 2.5
 
Additional Info:
- 19 weeks
 - 8 hours a week
 - Paid travel to Orlando for conference
