Tallahassee Community College Library Reference and Instruction Internship
The TCC Library offers an opportunity for MLIS students to gain experience on a busy academic library reference desk and in teaching college-level information literacy classes. Interns will work with a faculty librarian mentor and develop a schedule consisting of shadowing at the Reference Desk, observing information literacy instruction, and team teaching with one or more TCC Librarians. Interns will also have opportunities to learn about the other areas of library services including access, acquisitions, and technical services. Depending on the intern’s experience and interests, an internship project is identified with the mentor. The internship offers the opportunity for interns to give a library instruction demonstration and to gain feedback from experienced instructional librarians. Hours are flexible.
