Internship — PC/Mac/network technician (Tallahassee)

Summary

The Intern works within a team environment to support technicians with personal computer repairs. This may also include off-site network appointments and consultations.

Scope of Responsibility

Under supervision and guidance from technicians, troubleshoot and diagnose personal computers.

Essential Functions

  • Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate);
  • Researching new technology and providing valuable solutions/information in the format of a blog;
  • Participating in search engine optimization and social media strategy;
  • Install, configure, and test computer equipment;
  • Talking staff or clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues;
  • Troubleshooting system problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults;
  • Prepare and submit vendor warranty claims, parts, and documentation associated with warranty repairs (with authorization from vendors);
  • Perform preventive maintenance for computer and/or peripheral equipment;
  • Regular and satisfactory attendance and punctuality; and
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
