Internship — SQL Server/ASP.NET/SharePoint Developer (Tallahassee)

Preferred Managing Agency is currently seeking a part-time SQL Server/ASP.NET/SharePoint Intern in Tallahassee, Florida.

Company Description:  Preferred Managing Agency (PMA) is the managing general agency of the property and casualty insurance company Capitol Preferred Insurance.  PMA handles all of the day-to-day operations of Capitol, and is also the operations manager for Southern Fidelity Managing Agency (SFMA). SFMA is the exclusive managing general agency of Southern Fidelity Insurance Company.  In total, PMA manages over 150,000 property insured’s policies in the states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Louisiana.

Job Description:  PMA is seeking an experienced developer with solid skills in SQL Server 2008/2012 and Microsoft Reporting Services or ASP.NET and Visual Basic or SharePoint development.  This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a small, but growing, IT department.  This position will be involved in creating applications and reports for various departments, and helping to identify and develop solutions for various business and technical issues.  The position will also involve some technical support of day-to-day operations.

Location:  Tallahassee, Florida

Position Requirements:

– Working toward a BA/BS in Computer Science or Information Technology

– Experience creating reports using MS SQL Reporting Services or experience with or experience developing applications with SharePoint

– Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, as the candidate will be required to interact with managers and other IT staff on business and technical issues
