INTERNSHIP EMPLOYMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

The Wakulla Tourist Development Council (TDC) is looking for a social Media assistant who can make an impact, not only on our brand, but the organization as a whole. Our goal is to increase visitors to our area to benefit the economy.

Wakulla County is a rural county located in the Panhandle Florida area (just south of Tallahassee, Fla.) with a population of 30,000. To learn more about Wakulla and what the area offers, please visit www.visitwakulla.com.

Reporting to the Wakulla TDC, the assistant will be responsible for developing and implementing key elements for our social media strategy, which include:

  • Building and engaging the social media community (primarily through Facebook, Twitter,          Instagram, Google + and Pinterest)
  • Coordinating content creation and publishing of social media channels
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key partners
  • Tracking and evaluating social media performance

An ideal candidate has:

  • A strong working knowledge of social media platforms
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • The ability to be a self-starter requiring little supervision
  • A keen eye for details and is highly organized

This position is for 10 hours a week and pays $10 per hour. This position will start in September and conclude mid December. However, there is a strong possibility the position will continue through mid-May. Please note candidate must have their own computer/laptop.
