WFSU Public Media’s Spring 2020 Application period is now open to interested undergrad and graduate students. This internship is for students interested in journalism. The Spring session focuses heavily on the legislative session. Students will have the opportunity to cover Florida lawmakers as they debate policy and create a budget. WFSU News interns are responsible for reporting, writing, editing and producing their own stories under the supervision of the News Director and Assignment Editor. Previous interns have had their work shared across the 12 member station Florida Public Media network, along with NPR.
This internship is rigorous. Previous internships in news, journalism is required.
WFSU News interns have gone on to work at NPR, Telemundo, CBS and TV and radio stations across the country. Their work has received numerous awards including Murrow’s and Emmy’s.

Students are asked to dedicate at least two days a week (Monday-Friday) for this internship. It is highly competitive. While this internship is NOT paid, students are able to take it for academic credit. We will work with your advisors to make sure you meet your internship requirements.
The deadline for applications is November 15th.
