Job Posting: Acquisitions Librarian at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida
The Hunt Library seeks an Acquisitions Librarian. This new position will report to the Head of Collection Management, supervise one-two staff members, and participate in the acquisition of monographs, media, and serials resources. Other duties include evaluating items for deaccessioning, monitoring expenditures, coordinating gift books, and working with vendors. The position will also help develop new workflows related to the Alma environment, which goes live December 2019.
Required Qualifications
- ALA-accredited master’s degree
- One or more years of relevant experience (may include internships) with library acquisitions processes such as collection development, ordering, invoicing, and/or working with vendors
- Demonstrated knowledge of current issues and trends in acquisitions and the scholarly publishing landscape
- Strong communication skills and experience working effectively in a diverse environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an academic library
- Experience with ordering platforms such as GOBI
- Experience supervising staff
- Experience with Alma

The Hunt Library is located on the upper two floors of the new Mori Hosseini Student Union and provides services to over 6,000 residential and 22,000 distance education students who focus their studies on aviation, aerospace, and business topics.
