Responsibilities
The Event Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of activities designed to create awareness, foster communication, stimulate involvement and strengthen the connection between the university and alumni. Event coordinator coordinates the alumni networks and reunion committees. Reinforces a collaborative and supportive relationship with colleges and the DSO organizations.
This position is responsible for no more than 10 strategic alumni networks including Asian American, Black Alumni, Emeritus Alumni, Hispanic Alumni, LGBTQ+ Alumni, Alumnae engagement, and others as strategically assigned to meet the expectations of diversity and inclusion in alumni engagement. Additionally, oversees 50th reunion and support homecoming activities; serves as a liaison to assigned School/College/Unit alumni colleagues; ensures best practices in volunteer management and develops process to collaborate with outreach and staff. Travel as needed to engage with alumni regionally.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
Two years of experience in conference planning, event management, and membership relations or association membership programming.
Ability to work with a diverse population of team members and constituents.
Experience with budget development and management.
Customer service experience.
Ability to train and direct the work of others.
Ability to establish and maintain alumni and donor relations.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or comparable software. Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work independently and with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of office practices, procedures and etiquette.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend hours and some travel.
Proof of a valid Florida or Georgia driver’s license or ability to obtain.
Preferred
