Description

The Application Developer is responsible for the successful deployment of new web applications, web sites, reports, and other technology solutions for the Conversion Group. This position will require a sense of urgency and ownership to drive projects to completion for our Partners. This position also requires the ability to work effectively with internal staff to develop and document well-written and well-defined technical requirements to formulate a conceptual design that is appropriate and cost effective for our Partners. Supports other IT related projects as requested by the Director of Technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create new web sites, landing pages, and web applications
• Design, document, create, and optimize complex database schemas
• High level of experience developing and enhancing applications using PHP
• CMS Systems knowledge and experience
• Knowledge of shopping solutions
• Assists team members with LAMP set up, modifications, and installs
• Use source control to work in a collaborative team environment
• Test applications that have been developed by internal and external staff and perform other applications for developmental duties
• Perform technical troubleshooting and provide recommendations to management
• Performs day-to-day maintenance of Web content
• Identifies system deficiencies and recommends solutions
• Provides conclusive data to assist in establishing “Best Practices”
• Communicates factors critical to the success of the department, the company, our clients, and individual team members
• Accomplishes delegated tasks important to the success of the team

Requirements:
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge and experience with web based application technologies, including PHP(OOP and procedural), MySQL, HTML, and JavaScript
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and current Web development standards and tools
• Experience with the jQuery JavaScript framework or solid understanding and experience with JavaScript
• Solid understanding of software development and the software development life-cycle
• Understanding of web development security best practices
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear software specifications and design requirements and make sure applications are working properly.
• The ability to adapt well to changing business conditions, new ways of thinking, or new technology paradigms across a variety of functional groups and situations.

Preferred Skills :
• Experience with Adobe Flash, Flex, and/or AIR applications
• Experience with and practical knowledge of industry email marketing systems and software
• Experienced with various open source applications such as frameworks, CMS’ and CRMs
• Experience with VB applications, desktop and web

Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Technology or related field with at least one years’ experience in web development
OR
Three years’ experience in web application development
