Responsibilities
Promoting, curating, and organizing Allen Music Library Special Collections items. Duties include, but are not limited to planning and executing digitization projects of print and audio collections where appropriate, and providing reference and instruction services. Additional duties include evaluating gifts-in-kind for the collection and communicating with scholars outside of the FSU community regarding Allen Music Library Special Collections items and access.
Qualifications
- ALA-accredited MLS or related degree (awarded or in progress)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Broad knowledge of musical repertory
- Experience in an academic music library
- Working knowledge of foreign languages
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and creative environment
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a group in a truly interdependent environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing technological environments
- Ability to meet promotion requirements of demonstrated excellence in position performance, service, and leadership
Preferred
Preferred qualifications include:
- Second master’s degree in Music
- Experience working with archival or rare materials
- Experience digitizing print or audio materials for institutional repository or similar system
