The Digital Media Strategist’s primary responsibility is to ensure the consistent, positive visibility and growth of Florida TaxWatch through social and emerging media channels.

SOCIAL & DIGITAL MEDIA
This position uses social and other digital media avenues to expand the reach of Florida TaxWatch by crafting and executing a digital media plan to target specific groups of policymakers and those with influence in the policy landscape; utilizes social media to spread digital media created by TaxWatch staff; and ensures a wide release of TaxWatch research using all available digital channels. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the tracking and analytics of our digital channels to
determine the success of the digital media plan, and creating any necessary adjustments in order to meet the goals of the plan.

DIGITAL CONTENT
This position is responsible for the primary management and upkeep of all TaxWatch websites and digital systems; assisting with video and photo creation/production; and helping to generate and execute new ideas for digital content.

PUBLICATIONS & RESEARCH
This position is responsible for assisting the External Affairs Team in production and publication of research reports as necessary, including proofreading/copy editing, and serves as a member of the Peer Review Team.

EVENTS, MARKETING, AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT
This position will assist with event promotion and execution, and in the development and creation of the organization’s marketing efforts as necessary.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
At a minimum: working knowledge of social media from a marketing and engagement perspective; some experience with HTML/CSS; at least an Associates Degree in communications-related field; experience working for commercial or nonprofit client/company.

Candidates with experience in the following will be given preference: digital media analytics; Google AdWords; the Adobe Creative Suite; digital advertising.
