Job announcement — Technical Assistant, FSU Career Center (Tallahassee)

The Florida State University Career Center is seeking a part-time technical assistant. The role will serve as an integral member of the administrative team to provide technical support for computer-based administrative, instructional, and research applications for the Career Center. This position will also assist with maintaining The Career Center’s website.

Qualifications:  A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience, or a combination of relevant post high school education and experience equal to six years. Proficiency in Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2013/2016 applications, particularly Word and Outlook. Familiarity with standard troubleshooting for Windows workstations in a network environment. Knowledge of and ability to work with HTML and open source CMS solutions, such as EZ publish or Drupal. Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision and to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Good customer service skills.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree. Working knowledge of EZ Publish content management system. Experience with FSU ticketing systems. Familiarity with Microsoft Sharepoint. Experience working with audio-visual equipment.

Duties to include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with set-up of check in stations for career fairs (sometimes early morning).
  • Assist with event set up in Career Center
  • Desktop support for staff and student workstations.
  • Set up new equipment as needed.
  • Update Career Center and related websites.
  • Special projects as assigned.
