IT Technical Support Specialist II

Salary Range: $17.04-$34.20 Hourly*

This is technical work supporting and maintaining a wide variety of in-house technological equipment and IT assets. Work involves installing, configuring, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading all hardware, software, and peripherals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: An employee in this position performs technical tasks required for planning, installing, removing, and maintaining data communications network components and peripheral devices; supports and uses multiple operating systems including Windows 2000, XP, Tablet XP, Palm OS, and PocketPC, as well as various software packages including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, WordPerfect, IE, GroupWise, and others running in a Novell and Windows 2003 Server Network environment; performs functions related to planning, installing and troubleshooting network components and connectivity; provides user/liaison training, project planning, and point of contact support primarily within their designated service area; documents all actions in the MIS call tracking database; conducts and documents all testing and research of existing products and proposed acquisitions of technological equipment in a networked environment; performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Requires graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a Bachelor=s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field and three years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Requires a valid Driver=s license and a favorable driving record at time of hire.  Must possess a Comptia A+ Certified Technician Certification or be able to obtain within six months of hire date.  Must possess a Microsoft Certified Professional Certification (MCP) or must obtain within six months of hire date.  Technician will be required to obtain NCIC/FCIC certification with a full background check.
