Librarian and Tech Integrationist @ Cantebury School of Florida

Canterbury School of Florida in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a Librarian & Tech Integrationist beginning January 2023. This is a long-term substitute position with the potential of becoming a permanent, full-time role. In addition to serving grades 5-12 students in the Knowlton Campus library, the Librarian & Tech Integrationist is also a member of the Technology Department. Ideal candidates will have a commitment to the School’s mission, participate in school-wide activities, and contribute to a positive culture by building collaborative relationships with faculty and students.

Primary Responsibilities:

Serve as Knowlton Campus Librarian (Grades 5-12)

    • Create an environment which fosters a love of reading
    • Support Knowlton Literacy Program
    • Manage textbook and curricular resources
    • Collaborate with students and teachers on research projects
    • Train teachers on research databases and resources

Manage the Makerspace Library Program

    • Maintain the Makerspace Library
    • Implement curricular opportunities for teachers to use available resources in the Makerspace Library
    • Track, inventory, and organize supplies and resources
    • Facilitate and promote the scheduling of classes in Makerspace Library

Technology Integration and Support

    • Conduct workshops for faculty and students on academic resources
    • Manage an Upper School teaching assistant, who helps to provide library and technical support
    • Support academic technology of students and faculty, along with helping to provide classroom technology assistance

Educational and Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, a Master’s degree in library/Information Science (or the equivalent) is preferred, along with an advanced understanding of technology and digital literacy programming.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background screening
