As the Branch Supervisor, you’ll be based at the East Forest Park Branch Library. The Branch is busy with readers throughout the day, afterschool visitors, and program attendees. With a state grant and city, public, and private support, we built and opened this expansive, modern branch in 2019. It features large Teen and Children’s Rooms, a Makerspace, and many programmable spaces as well as comfortable reading areas. The Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in the everyday work of the library. They engage with the community, provide direct public service, create schedules, plan and deliver public programs, staff the branch on a day to day basis, and report any facility problems. We’re looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and the completion of an American Library Association-accredited Masters of Library Science. You’ll need an excellent customer service orientation; and a “turned outward” approach to community engagement is ideal. Bilingual abilities desirable (English and Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Arabic, Somali, Dari, or other community language). You should have experience with staff supervision and training.
