Title:                      Library Services Representative
Description:        Determines types of technical literature searches and sources of information to satisfy the scientific information needs of researchers and staff within the company. Conducts searches of technical literature, analyzes and evaluates data, extracts pertinent information, prepares information abstracts and bibliographies of material searched. Maintains extensive knowledge of literature resources and continuous contacts with local, national, and international information centers and agencies. Maintains and improves information retrieval capabilities. Assists in the selection of literature for inclusion in the library’s collection and may translate foreign technical literature. Keeps abreast of developments in areas of interest to the company and periodically consults with researchers and other information users to ensure maximum usefulness and service.

Qualification:                     Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education. Entry level.
Required skills: Knowledge and experience with these Library services: customer interaction, reference assistance, resource selection, material acquisition, circulation of resources, cataloging of materials, collection maintenance and document delivery. Ability to conduct research using online databases. Organizational skills. Strong customer orientation. Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Desired skills:    Master’s Degree in Library Science or Information Studies. Proficiency in use of government and defense related online research databases. Excellent marketing skills. Experience in a Corporate Library environment. Knowledge of government agencies / retrieval of documents. Knowledge of collection development resources and practices.
