Business Librarian I-IV @ The Texas A&M University, San Antonio

The Texas A&M University – San Antonio Library is looking for a new business librarian! This position is part of the Research Services team and is the primary library liaison to the College of Business. The business librarian is responsible for collection development, library instruction, faculty outreach, research support and reference services for all departments within the College of Business: Accounting and Finance, Computer and Cyber Security, and Management and Marketing. The College has both undergraduate and graduate degrees, and is in the process of creating the university’s first Ph.D. program.  Services are provided both in person and virtually.

A successful candidate will have an interest in business and computer science topics and resources, will be comfortable working with both faculty and students, is a lifelong learner, and has the ability to work with diverse populations, including a diverse faculty population and first-generation students. Continuing professional development is encouraged and supported.

This position supports the A&M-San Antonio vision to serve as an economic, research and social catalyst that will become nationally recognized for student and academic success, embracing all students, especially those from underrepresented communities. This position is a staff position, with rank and pay based on post-MLS experience.  Students graduating in Spring 2022 are welcome to apply.

Required qualifications:

  • Librarian 1: MLS and no experience
  • Librarian 2: MLS and 2 years related experience in academic library
  • Librarian 3: MLS and 4 years related experience in academic library
  • Librarian 4: MLS and 5 years related experience in an academic library setting, including related supervisory experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • experience providing library instruction/ presentations in courses
  • experience working with faculty to support their research projects/agendas
  • experience developing online tutorials and finding aids (Springshare and/or other platforms)
  • comfortable providing services in person and online
