Collections Development Librarian/Assistant Professor @ Mississippi University for Women

Job description:

The Collections Development Librarian / Assistant Professor will report to the Dean of Library Services and will be responsible for the ongoing assessment of research and program needs through campus outreach, allowing the library to be responsive to changing the changing needs of MUW. The position will review electronic and print materials currently in the library’s collection and work with other stakeholders to make recommendations for collection development. The successful candidate will work with the Dean and other library faculty and staff to update and/or create collection development policies and supervise the curation of print and electronic collections based on those policies. The position will also coordinate audits of collections within the ASRS (automatic storage and retrieval system) with the Library System Administrator, work closely with acquisitions and cataloging staff, and prepare assessments and reports related to electronic and print collection development. There may be additional responsibilities for research support and outreach, including online and in-person reference.
