Description: 
We are an online design/art/digital media college that offers Bachelor, Associate, and certificate level programs. We utilize a digital library provided by LIRN to provide student research resources and recommended readings for our general education and upper-level bachelor’s courses. We are looking to contract a librarian for a 2-3 day project to:
  1. Review and expand recommended and required readings. Review current recommended and required course readings and make recommendations to expand our reading list to enhance the depth of resources in each general education and creative major area. Resources can include e-books and articles/journals as well as other types of resources.
  2. Examine current student library interface, study aids, and library usage data and provide recommendations for an enhanced library portal. Based upon this review, provide recommendations to enhance student access, ease of use, understanding of library search techniques to enhance information literacy and library usage.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in library and information science (MLIS) or equivalent program of study
Two or more years of professional academic library experience
Demonstrated experience in collection development
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Willingness to collaborate with college Education team
Ability to work independently and meet prescribed deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or interest in the fields of design and/or art and/or digital media
Familiarity with LIRN online library or related online textbook subscription services
