Reference Associate (OPS) (part time)

Position will be located in the Undergraduate Learning Commons of the University Libraries
Responsibilities
Florida State University Libraries seeks customer service-oriented people to act as highly trained reference assistants in the undergraduate services team, this is a position created for current MLIS students and recent graduates.
Primary duties include:
- Providing a broad array of in-depth information and educational services to students, faculty, staff, and other library users.
- Providing reference both in-person and virtually.
- Assisting patrons with some circulation and technology issues.
- Attend weekly paid training.
- Semester long project with report at end.
Preferred
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of public services.
- Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills, analytical skills, and the ability to work with all levels of staff.
Qualifications
- Recent Graduates (within 2 years) with Master’s Degree from ALA-accredited Library Science program or currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited Library Science program.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with current technology.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends.
