Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for a full-time Librarian on the Cocoa Campus in Cocoa, Florida. This is a tenure track position.
Provides professional librarian services for both eLearning and the Cocoa Campus consistent with the mission, goals, objectives, and purposes of the Libraries and the College. This position will split time between Collegewide and campus responsibilities. This position requires some evening and weekend work.
The following minimum qualifications for this position must be met before any applicant will be considered:
– Master’s degree from a regionally-accredited institution and an ALA accredited school in Library Science
– Three years of experience as a librarian, preferably academic
– Experience teaching information literacy concepts, in both traditional and online classrooms, based on current ACRL instruction standards
– Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
– Ability to use computer applications such as Integrated Library System (ILS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), Banner, and database searching
– Ability to implement general library procedures
– Ability to follow verbal and written directions; ability to work in a team environment and deal with changing priorities based on patron and library need
– Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet the needs of diverse student populations
– Demonstrated experience in reference (in person, phone, virtual), collection development, instruction, and acting as liaison to academic departments
– Experience managing digital resources
– Experience coordinating and developing elearning services
– Familiarity with emerging technologies
– Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required
– This position will require successful fingerprinting and the candidate chosen will be required to pay the associated fee (currently $36.00)

High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office. The salary starts at $45,817. Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.
