As a member of the Instructional and Research Services department in the Kraemer Family Library, the Outreach and Instruction Librarian provides information literacy instruction and research assistance in various formats while providing guidance to the department and other librarians on methods and best practices for evaluating and improving their practice in these areas. The following job duties are expected but not all-inclusive. You may explore additional interests in developing, delivering, and promoting library services or be asked to take on other duties as assigned. This is a 12-month faculty appointment that requires commitments in the areas of Teaching/Librarianship and Leadership and Service. Scholarly/Creative Work is not required.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develops the library’s outreach program by cultivating and maintaining partnerships across campus to promote the Kraemer Family Library and identify opportunities to enhance library services.
- Takes an active role in developing and implementing co-curricular and extra-curricular library programming, such as workshops and events. Coordinates with library and campus marketing groups as needed to publicize events.
- Coordinates library outreach to underrepresented or underserved populations on the UCCS campus.
- Fosters partnerships with partners in the Pikes Peak region to develop community engagement initiatives and projects.
- Provide face-to-face and online information literacy instruction in the First Year Rhetoric and Writing Program, library workshops, and the Gateway Program Seminar. This may include night and weekend classes.
- Serves as liaison to divisions or departments, providing collection development, library instruction, and research assistance.
- Participates in the development of online learning materials (eg, LibGuides) required for liaison departments and outreach initiatives.
- Provide service at the Research Assistance Desk. This may include occasional nights and weekends.
- Participates in the development of policies, procedures, and goals for the Instructional and Research Services department and the Kraemer Family Library
- Demonstrate a commitment to the academic or campus community through library, campus, CU System, or professional service activities.

What We Offer:
Salary Range: Generally starting at $45,000 – $48,000 per year
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
