Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree and two years relevant experience; or a high school education and relevant education and/or experience equal to six years. Possession of a Valid Class E Driver’s License. Experience with Network Infrastructure deployment and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) implementation. Experience with installing, configuring, monitoring and managing network infrastructure with an emphasis on securityand access control software. Experience with collecting and analyzing network performance monitoring data. Experience with diagnosing network system issues. Experience with working in a group setting to find solutions for complex networking problems.

Responsibilities
This position will initially concentrate on Network Infrastructure deployment in preparation of the Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) implementation. This position*s duties include regular 24-hour support through the diagnosis of problems and to take appropriate action sharing full responsibilities for the continued operation of the FSU campus network and its link to the world.
Designs and implements campus-wide networking solutions. Specifies, installs, configures, monitors and manages campus network infrastructure and access to the internet for the entire University with an emphasis on security and access control software. Collects and analyzes network performance monitoring data.
Advises the Associate, Assistant Director on the ongoing policies and standards to insure that current policies remain up-to-date and relevant in a dynamic network environment. Provides technical advice to ITS management regarding complex computer/network related problems and applications.
May function as project leader responsible for a coordinated effort in pursuit of solutions to complex networking problems. This includes: a) working with others to define problem solutions; b) providing coordination in the configuration of network components; c) reviewing and editing documentation to assure clear and reliable records of operational systems.
This position will serve as a subject matter expert and technology facilitator. It will not directly supervise staff. It may occasionally supervise OPS employees and contracted service providers or on an as needed basis.
Other duties as required. A State vehicle, golf cart, utility vehicle, or all-terrain vehicle will be used to reach site premises. A valid driver’s license will be needed in order to operate vehicle.
