The primary purpose of this position is to provide professional general and subject specific reference service to students and faculty of the Oceanography Center. These activities include but are not limited to: Providing assistance and library instruction one-on-one, in a class setting, by e-mail, phone, and chat; providing documentation to assist in teaching using the latest and most effective technology to achieve excellence in instruction. Manage the Oceanographic Center Library, including supervising student assistants, and monitoring library budget. Work with collection development team to assure that suitable materials are selected for students and faculty of the Oceanography Center. Provide circulation services for Oceanography Library. Weekend and evening hours are required.

Education / Qualifications:
This position requires a graduate degree from an ALA-approved program.

1. Master’s of Library Science from an ALA-accredited school.
2. Two years of Science Library experience –OR– Master’s Degree in Marine/Ocean Sciences.
3. Experience working with faculty.
4. Supervisory experience.
