Outreach Coordinator

Position Description:

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated person to join the Office of Communications as the department’s Outreach Coordinator. Under the direction of the Communications Director, this incumbent will be responsible for:

• Planning outreach events on behalf of the department and the Office of Communications (conferences, expos, panel discussions, seminars, etc.);

• Completing special projects as assigned (books, partnerships, videos, etc.);

• Serving as the point of contact for the Division of Regulation to ensure Unlicensed Activity (ULA) sweeps, stings and outreach efforts are implemented efficiently;

• Facilitating partnerships with large groups/organizations to maximize outreach and reinforce goals and initiatives;

• Assisting the Office of Communications in drafting content for press releases, speeches, social media, newsletters, articles and related items;

• Updating the internal and external websites on a regular basis;

• Assisting the Office of Communications with answering media calls, gathering information and daily administrative activities as necessary.

 

Requirements: Applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, information communication & technology or a related field. Incumbent should have at least one semester worth of experience doing event planning, communications, public outreach or public relations with an organization. This individual needs to be a creative and outgoing person with initiative to jumpstart projects from scratch. Applicants with graphic design experience and strong writing skills will be given preference.
