This position requires a four-year (4) degree in journalism, public relations, communications or a related field and three to five (3-5) years of experience. The incumbent must possess superior oral and written communication skills.
Primary duties include:
- Public Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with PowerSouth’s distribution member systems and applicable media outlets.
- Copywriting and Editing: Oversees all aspects of internal and external publications and various other writing assignments, serves as Editor of Powerlines (PowerSouth’s internal newsletter) and is responsible for all copywriting, editing, and speech writing. Adhering to strict deadlines and storyboard development are vital.
- Tours: Coordinate tours of PowerSouth facilities for both internal and external groups.
- Community Relations: Assist in the coordination of community events.
