Advertising Analytics is looking for a Research Analyst to collect, clean and organize political spending data for client reports, contribute to longer-term analysis projects, and provide research support to the Product Manager. The position requires an affinity for working with data and excellent attention to detail as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities for this position will primarily consist of conducting spending and electoral research on behalf of our clients. Tasks include gathering, analyzing, and visualizing relevant data from a number of external sources; authoring research reports and blog posts with original analysis to offer insight into the field of political media spending; serving as a primary contact for clients while providing clear and timely communication and analysis; and assisting the Product Manager with ad hoc requests for tasks involving data collecting, writing, and editing. All employees are expected to assist in occasional office-related administrative and communication assignments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a social science or other related field, with 0-2 years of work experience. Applicants should have knowledge or interest in politics, particularly in regards to elections and the electoral process. Significant experience with Microsoft Excel is required, and additional experience in data analysis and visualization is a plus. Candidates should have strong writing and communication skills and display excellent attention to detail, particularly in the context of data-related tasks. Applicants should be proactive and self-motivated, able to work well individually and as part of a team, and capable of juggling multiple responsibilities and projects in a fast-paced work environment.
