Responsibilities
The Media Specialist is responsible for the design of digital and printed materials for the promotion of FSU International Programs, from concept to completion. This position would also manage International Programs’ social media sites and engage with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and families online. Responsible for overseeing the Brand Ambassadors who are content creators for IP’s social media sites and would assist with graphic design. This position is responsible for overseeing the branding of IP and advising on the visual and stylistic branding for the department.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
- Experience designing and developing digital and printed materials.
- Ability to design web/social media graphics.
- Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
- Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Ability to train and supervise part-time employees.

• The ideal candidate for the role: You’re self-motivated, organized, and love all things social media & design. The ability to manage a team of student ambassadors and provide feedback is important. You are creative and love representing a brand through visual design and social media. You know what it takes to stay on top of trends.
• What is a typical day/working environment like: In this creative position your tasks may be similar from day to day, but you’ll always be creating something new. Typically, you’ll start the day by checking social media calendars and emails as well as answering messages. Then you might work on some design projects or give feedback to your team of design/social media student ambassadors. You might cap off the day by planning calendars and coming up with new project ideas. You’ll participate in team meetings for collaborative projects also. Occasionally you’ll be out and about documenting events and helping with general marketing efforts.
• What the employee can expect in the first 60 – 90 days: You’ll hit the ground running as we train you on social media efforts and start transitioning accounts over to you to manage. You’ll learn about how to write in the IP voice and become familiar with our visual brand. You’ll start on graphic design projects and create a plan for the student ambassador program. We’ll make sure you have all the tools you need to be successful in your role.
