Event Planner/Alumni Engagement @ FSU International Programs

Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing event marketing at International Programs, as well as community and alumni engagement. This includes management of in person events on campus and in the community as well as virtual events to engage IP’s target market. This position will also assist with overseas study center virtual events and marketing as needed. Responsible for engaging and forming relationships with community partners and attending study abroad fairs. Alumni engagement will also be an important part of the role.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to six years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

  • Marketing experience.
  • Experience planning and coordinating events.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent software.
  • Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

  • What is a typical day/working environment like:
    • Every day will look a little different for this position. Typically, you’ll spend time checking emails and organizing plans for events, brainstorming new ways to reach and engage IP alumni, connecting with campus and community partners, and creating new events for IP students and alumni. You’ll participate in team meetings to collaborate with other IP team members on events and marketing efforts. During event days, you’ll run the event to make sure everything goes smoothly. Occasionally, you might travel to fairs and other events around the region.
  • What the employee can expect in the first 60 – 90 days:
    • Your first few weeks you’ll learn all about IP’s marketing efforts and meet the team members you’ll be working closely with. We’ll get you up-to-speed on all things International Programs: from the events that we host throughout the year to the ways in which we engage with alumni. You’ll start working on creating calendars and schedules for IP events and outreach efforts.
