Systems Project Consultant @ Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of experience developing, maintaining, and updating website features; and
  • Experience working with WordPress or similar CMS; and
  • Experience with HTML5 and CSS3; and
  • Experience with image authoring tools, such as Photoshop and Illustrator.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the following:

  • Experience using an administration tool, such as phpMyAdmin, to interact with relational databases.
  • Experience using debugging tools, such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
  • Experience interpreting log files to debug website issues.
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Node.js, Vue.js, or Angular.
  • Experience with Server infrastructure (IIS, Apache).
  • Experience with automating tasks using scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Bash, or Perl.
  • Experience working with code versioning tools such as Git, Mercurial, or SVN.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The incumbent in this position is responsible for updating and maintaining the agency’s internet and intranet websites using WordPress and applicable plugins, providing training to web authors, creating and sending mass emails, and developing agency web forms.
  • Meet and/or communicate with key stakeholders throughout the development and implementation process. Ensure that customer requirements are addressed.
  • Performs unit testing and training. Maintains documentation, conducts quality assurance testing, reporting and resolution of defects, and assists with user acceptance testing.
  • Creates and sends mass emails to agency customers using a mass email product.
  • Creates custom web forms, ranging from simple to complex.
  • Receives requests from RemedyForce ticketing system.
  • Maintains record of activities in RemedyForce ticketing system by updating comments and statuses.
  • Performs other work related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of computer operations procedures and systems.
  • Strong understanding of WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, SQL, Mass Email products, and Web Form design.
  • Experience with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector, Firebug and relevant log files.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to use available technology to perform duties, including computer software, hardware and data systems.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop recommendations and solve problems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
