Melissa Gross of FSU’s School of Information recently received the Excellence in Online Teaching award from the Office of Distance Learning (ODL) for teaching Information Needs of Children.
Gross won the award after the ODL reviewed how her teaching evaluations and strategies have demonstrated superior methods of instruction and engagement of students as learning partners.
Gross teaches research methods at both the master’s and doctorate levels at the iSchool. As a whole, her research interests include information-seeking behavior, information literacy, the evaluation of library programs and services and teacher/librarian collaboration.
After being nominated by a student, Gross also recently received the Transformation Through Teaching award from The Spiritual Life Project at FSU for her intellectual, inspirational and integrative impact.
Gross will receive the award at the ODL Reception on November 18.
