Software Engineer in Test Intern @ Sagesure

Overview:

SageSure, the insurance first, tech-forward, capital-lite managing general underwriter that focuses on the underserved, preferred homeowners middle-market, is seeking a Software Engineer in Test Intern to join our summer internship program. Over the course of this 10-week program, Interns will gain tangible, hands-on experience and insight into our business operations. As a Software Engineer in Test Intern at Sagesure, you will be a member of an agile team environment and you will learn to practice and drive the software quality best practices we use that help make our software the industry leader. Coordination, planning, execution, automation scripting is only a few of the many activities your work will entail. We have, very often, considered our interns for post-graduation roles within the company.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Learning and networking with employees, leaders, and other interns during a 10-week, on the job experience with potential to earn college credit
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of end-to-end integration automation
  • Research and analysis support on ad-hoc projects
  • Assist in addition to and maintenance of our integration automation framework using Selenium framework
  • Conduct functional, integration, and other forms of automated testing
  • Collaborative teamwork and/or individual Capstone project
  • Recommend solutions to industry issues
  • Fulfill tasks set out by team leaders
  • Receive coaching, mentoring and feedback from knowledgeable Sagesure professionals

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Desire to work in the insurance industry
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new programming languages and environments
  • An undergraduate or graduate education with an anticipated graduation date in 2023 or 2024
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Quick avid learning ability
  • Natural problem-solving skills
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and entirely remote environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • Education in Computer Science or related field/degree
  • Knowledge and/or coursework in Java and/or Python
  • Prior internship experience
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
